My first presentation shouldn't be that difficult, after all, I have been making presentations everyday for my students.  Just that in this case, my students would be my peers.  Teaching English idioms and expressions through television was the topic I had to present, a topic I have been using and studying about since 2004.  Fast forward to the 2015 KOTESOL International Conference and I was ready to give my 80 minute workshop presentation.  To my delight, the room was packed full of eager learners.  I was glad to see some Korean faces in the audience, knowing full well that they were curious and willing to help their students with this nontraditional method of learning. Hi Mike, These courses are also a more in-depth method of research connecting (Networking) to some high level thinkers in different subjects for , of course, my own purposes. But for a young man like yourself this may be something to involve yourself with because it is part of the evolution of of learning. It will constantly change, so it is necessary to be a part of it to understand it.  The possibilities for future careers are possible. Not for myself, since I am on a course of destiny at this time :-) The full extent of this is better communicated over some brews and philosophical thought and meditation along with good humour.  Maybe one day. We had always wanted to visit Sarak-San​ (Mountain) and the Korean DMZ, but after 20 years of living in Korea and/or Asia, had never made it to the two most popular tourist destinations in South Korea, so, with some time off and a flight departing from Incheon (Seoul) a week later, it was primetime to finally go!! DAY 1) Tuesday, woke up early and went to the Kimhae Airport, where we caught our early flight to Kimpo Seoul Airport on Cheju Air. It's actually not that bad for a discount airline.  45 minutes later, we bought our Kimpo-Sokcho bus tickets and ate breakfast at Steff Hotdog.  The three hour bus ride was scenic, asides from the horrendous bus driver and/or the other drivers.  I only wish I hadn't of gotten a front row seat exposing me to the windshield (a case of ignorance is bliss would have been great in this case).  One nice note: the roadside stop had excellent peeled potatoes roasted in butter, akin to french fries in a brown bag from an Ottawa ...

We literally had our first pure staycation, ever.  It happened to be in Busan in the middle of June 2017.  This is our story. The previous week, Hite Beer and HomePlus delivered three cases of beer (12X500ml), since I had bought a case and the handle broke, which ended up with three beers meeting a grisly death and I cut my hand.  The Hite Beer guy took my phone # & we'll go out for a few later in the summer.  He majored in English at KSU. He also suggested the Hite-Jinro factory tour in JeonJu City (famous for bibimbap) for free.  They pick up 30 friends at 7am in Busan by bus and return by mid-afternoon, which includes booze and bibimbap. Hi, Some of yous have been asking about what Carol and I did for our anniversary.  Here goes. I had been trying to find a nice hotel package for about a week.  I found a good deal at the Nong-Shim Hotel, which included two nights and use of the spa and gym. We got fruit too, since it was our anniversary.  On Saturday, we checked-in and had a few drinks and almonds, while chatting.  Then had dinner in the German Beer Garden.  We had German Country sausages and a really good pizza.  Of course, we had some micro-brew, too.  There was a live band from Bulgaria playing.  They sang a song for us. On Sunday, we went for a hike and took a gondola ride. After that we went to the spa, which had over 20 different baths, such as a grapefruit bath, a yellow sand bath, and salt water baths.  Then we went to one of the hotel restaurants for a wine buffet (24$U.S.)  We had 3 bottles (2 white, one red), lots of sushi, seafood, BBQ beef,...
