Walking and Hiking Tours of Busan

SATURDAY: Walked up & down Su-Young River with Andy, Gill & their daughter, Nicole.  She is pregnant, so she'll go to England soon, to meet up with Rikard, who is currently in South Africa, waiting for his work visa.  The River was something new for me, so I was quite pleased.  A nice boardwalk & bike path on either side, paddle boats, artwork... We ended up at a cultural centre to see Gill's student's artwork.  Then we went to COSTCO to eat chicken bakes, basically a cannoli without the sauce.  Taxied home, finished X-Files and had soondae again for dinner. COURSE H H is for Haeundae Beach Meeting Point: Haeundae Station # 203 Green Line #2 Drop Off: Haeundae or Dongbaek Station #204 Green Line # 2 Have lunch at North Korean restaurant.  Walk through Haeundae Beach market.  Then walk along beach to Dongbaek Island.  Explore the island and APEC Museum. Optional: Walk or taxi to Mipo Fishing Village and Moontan Road for a short Eady hike or a coffee with a view of Haeundae Beach and the East Sea. 

We literally had our first pure staycation, ever.  It happened to be in Busan in the middle of June 2017.  This is our story. The previous week, Hite Beer and HomePlus delivered three cases of beer (12X500ml), since I had bought a case and the handle broke, which ended up with three beers meeting a grisly death and I cut my hand.  The Hite Beer guy took my phone # & we'll go out for a few later in the summer.  He majored in English at KSU. He also suggested the Hite-Jinro factory tour in JeonJu City (famous for bibimbap) for free.  They pick up 30 friends at 7am in Busan by bus and return by mid-afternoon, which includes booze and bibimbap. This small, Italian, and French restaurant is located in a very quiet neighborhood. After a hectic week of teaching, the French and Italian classical music and décor are very relaxing. The chef-owner studied Italian cooking while in England and Italy.  All of the pasta served at Ravioli’s is homemade, and every meal comes with fresh, hot Italian bread. My friend ordered the special of the day, lasagna verdi bolognese (7000 won) which wasn't great. The other special was a spinach cannelloni, made of spinach pasta, filled with cheese, and vegetables, and covered with a tomato sauce, which was to die for! (7000 won). I ordered the ravioli for 6500 won. Pasta pockets filled with smoked salmon, served under a tasty tomato sauce and scrumptious vegetables.
