BALI WITH WU FAMILY

Carol and I both had an excellent week long vacation with Carol's Mom (May), and two nephews, Leo (17 years old) and Lee-Koon (Ken) (eight years old).  We went to a water-park, biked down a mountain for four hours, went white water rafting, played in the waves at Dreamland and Legian, checked out a zoo where an elephant kissed my cheek and put a wreath around my neck, witnessed a rooster fight, shopped a bit, went to a lounge-pub rooftop with Leo, went swimming a lot in our villas in Seminyak (near Kuta) and Ubud, saw a Hindu or Buddhist temple or two, went to the Monkey Forrest, watched Balinese dancing, ate and introduced international food to the boys (they liked Shwarmas, fries, steaks, burgers, and chicken the best; no surprise there, huh?).  Leo learned how to swim, while Ken tried his best to overcome his fear of the water.  Overall, it was an excellent trip.  Leo and Ken started to better understand the importance of English, since Ken made friends with kids from Australia, Indonesia, and elsewhere, while Leo dealt with people in the service industry.  Carol and her mom were both very happy to have caught up, and May loved the adventure sports the most!! The flight back was the best I've ever flown on in Indonesia, on a little known airliner called Batavia Air.

We loved Bali so much on this trip, that we've decided to go back again in two weeks for 10 days.  There is a resort on the North Coast of Bali, in Lovina, that has dolphins in their pool, so we really want to stay there; imagine going for a swim in the pool and playing with dolphins!! (Edit: we did not stay here because they treat the dolphins poorly and Turns out a room there is 50$.  That's Okay, but if you want to swim with the dolphins for 20 minutes, the room goes up to 189$).

Note: While at the lounge-Pub, which was, by the way, free drinks all night long, Leo had a night of firsts.  He talked up a white girl, got sick and had his first hangover!!  I thought he was okay, since he only had two drinks (quite strong ones though).  May was not as impressed.
